Our
Technology

At KineMo we quantify and track athletes whole body kinematics during exercise.
We specialise on demand, precise and scalable athlete kinematics tracking. Whether you have a single athlete or a large group, we've got you covered. Simply record an athlete during exercise with any mobile device and let KineMo do the rest.
No calibration, no need for multiple cameras, no wearables or sensors are required.
KineMo uses AI to translate the 2D video to 3D kinematics across 33 joints such as the spine, neck, chest and ankles.
We train our own datasets and benchmark our outcomes against gold-standard marker-based solutions in motion capture.

An ever-growing matrix of exercises & movements tracked

At KineMo we work with our client sports to understand the key movements, exercises and skills they need to track and we build a matrix of value outcomes against each.

What we see, what KineMo see and tracks

Sports Physiotherapists, coaching, strength & conditioning teams and other professionals make daily decisions on athlete recovery, well-being and performance. A key factor in these decisions is 'how well is this athlete moving?’

  • Is it safe to load this athlete in a gym?
  • Is it safe to increase loading?
  • Is it safe to return to contact training?
  • Were the exercises performed correctly and safely?
  • Is the athlete underperforming?
  • Is the athlete at risk of injury?

Understanding the impact of their movement patterns during exercise for these and many other questions is currently, in most cases done subjectively by observation, using the physios' or coaches' experience and ‘eye’. Within the extremely busy environment of elite sports, whole-body kinematics are typically not recorded objectively on a regular basis. One of the reasons for this is a lack of tools to do this accurately, efficiently and on demand. Below elite level, at academies, colleges, clubs and grassroots it is not practical to record kinematics across large numbers of athletes over time and at scale. KineMo is a solution that can provide this service.

Our Technology

KineMo’s innovative 3D movement tracking technology is validated with our sports partners against gold standard marker-based systems for accuracy and consistency. It combines several areas of innovation and expertise across our multidisciplinary team

AI Models

KineMo’s state-of-the-art solution for human 3D pose estimation (patent-pending), a powerful framework that can easily be adapted and customised to optimally serve specific athletic movements.

Data Sets

We capture and train against our own domain-specific datasets. We have facilities and know-how to capture 3D motion data. These can be used to customise our models as needed for specific sports, environments, skills and other client use cases.

Know-How

KineMo has a multidisciplinary and experienced team of experts with the highest academic and domain expertise across AI & machine learning, pose estimation, software engineering, biomechanical engineering, sports science, sports physiotherapy and sports technology.

Metrics

KineMo accurately and consistently tracks kinematics on an ever-growing set of athlete movements, exercises and skill sets with key metrics prioritized and tracked against each through a feedback loop with our partners

Biomechanical Landmarks

KineMo has developed an extended skeletal model to track accurate athlete movement metrics, not just through main joints but also through the spine, chest, neck, ankles and more.
